September is busy! I had the privilege to join a panel with Ian Jindal, Dorit Posdorf, Sören Stamer and Daphne van Doorn to dive deep into personalization in ecommerce.
Here are a few insights that stuck with me:
✨ Most users like personalization — Daphne (BVDW) shared that the majority actually expect it. ✨ Personalization helps us cut through the noise. We’re bombarded with messages daily — the more tailored, the better. ✨ AI is a game changer, but it’s not ready to run on autopilot. It still “hallucinates” too often. ✨ Sensitive industries (like Doc Morris) show how AI must be closely monitored and combined with human editors. ✨ Clear brand guidelines + persona profiles = essential. They act as a compass for AI to stay true to your identity.
My takeaway?
👉 Personalization isn’t optional anymore. 👉 AI is a powerful enabler — but only if we stay in the driver’s seat.
Curious: Where do you draw the line? What personalization practises are an absolute no-go for you?
