Soon, youāll be able to have an AI agent call local stores on your behalf to check stock levels, ask about promotions, and compare options. The AI will clearly disclose itself on the call, and merchants can opt out if they prefer not to chat with a bot. Afterward, shoppers get a clean summary via text or email 𤯠This starts rolling out in categories like toys, health & beauty, and electronics.
š³ AI-powered purchasing Youāll also be able to tell Googleās agent what you want, set specs like color or size, and even name your ideal price. If the price drops below your threshold, the agent pings you for approval and completes the transaction via Google Pay. Early partners include Wayfair, Chewy, Quince, and select Shopify sellers.
š These tools promise to automate the friction-filled parts of shopping while still keeping humans in control especially around price and purchasing decisions. But they could also reshape how we discover products in the first place, potentially shifting power away from traditional browsing, reviews, and even influencers.
