Looks like Google is testing ads in AI Mode
I think Google couldn't push AI Mode for quite some time as the default search interface because it lacked a monetization model. That’s starting to change: first ads are now appearing inside AI Mode.
🧪 The integration is still early. Ads show up in a separate, clearly marked “Sponsored” block, with a headline tailored to the user’s prompt.
🔍 Currently, only a tiny share of AI Mode responses include ads. Seems like Google is in a testing phase. But if Google is good at one thing, it’s making ads feel almost like organic results which will be again Googles goal here.
