Meta bans ByteDance 🚫 ...these days everyone seems to be blocking each other. Just two weeks ago we saw Amazon blocking Muse.
What’s happening?
Meta began implementing a ban on ads and paid marketing messages from ByteDance, the Chinese parent of TikTok, on October 8.
The ban also covers third-party advertisers whose campaigns link to TikTok or other ByteDance properties in those markets.
Meta and TikTok have competed neck-and-neck for years, despite an imbalance in their rivalry: TikTok can operate in the US, while Meta remains blocked in China.
The whole ad ecosystem is in motion. I haven't seen so much changes in a short period of time during the last decade.
