🚨 4%! OpenAI just put a price on agent driven commerce.
Starting January 26th, Shopify merchants can opt-in to sell directly through ChatGPT, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot via "Instant Checkout."
OpenAI will be taking a 4% cut on every sale made through its checkout. While Google and Microsoft aren't charging fees (yet), OpenAI is monetizing the transaction now.
Compared to for example Amazon the 4% sound relatively low. With Amazon fees can range between 8% to 15%. You will typically also find higher fees in the well known Affiliate Networks.
Looks like OpenAI is putting out an offer to drive quick adoption.
