🧐 First look at the OpenAI Ads Manager! We got early access to the new OpenAI Ads manager. Let me show you how it looks and what’s possible as of now.

1. Start by creating a campaign 🎯

Every campaign is set up with a campaign objective. As of now advertisers can select: - Reach - Clicks - If tracking is set up also Conversions

Then you’ll provide the overall campaign budget and also can set conversion events. (Conversion events are configured in the general settings of the ad account)

As you would expect there is also the ability to provide a start and end date.

2. Ad Group 📢

In the Ad Group advertisers are asked to provide their CPC bid. It’s interesting to mention that in our account the default is $3 and that you get an info that ads might not deliver if you go below it. Let’s see how this plays out in practice.

The Ad Group then also contains a default URL and so called “Context hints”. That’s a textfield that lets you provide topics and keywords that are relevant to this Ad Group.

3. The Ad 🔗

Every Ad gets a name and the target URL for your landing page.

The Ad creative itself is relatively basic. It contains a headline, a description (max 100 characters) and an image (PNG or JPG, square, at least 256x256 px)

4. The general settings ⚙️

Before setting up the first Ad group I’d recommend to set up tracking. OpenAI provides tracking pixels that are supposed to be added in the <head> part of your website.

After adding the tracking pixel you can set up conversion events. Available events are: Appointment_scheduled Checkout_started Contents_viewed Items_added Lead_created Order_created Page_viewed Registration_completed Subscription_created Trial_started

The default conversion window is 30 days and can’t be changed as of now (I expect this to be updated soon).

I am curious to see the results from the first campaigns and will keep you posted.
